Bomber’s Last Home Races

Last weekend saw Ithaca Crew racing on the inlet both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Ithaca won 8 of 10 races with St. Lawrence and Skidmore, and the two losses were the only close races of the day. On Sunday, the women’s team faced off against William Smith with close races across the board. William Smith took 3 of the 4 races of the day, with 2 second margins in the 2V and 3V races. The challenging races with these state rivals already has the Bombers looking forward to another match up at State Championships.

After a packed day of racing on Saturday, the seniors from the men’s & women’s teams celebrated their last home races with a traditional jump into the chilly inlet! It was great to see a lot of family, friends and fans cheering us on all the way down the course! The seniors and their families ended the day on a bittersweet note with a luncheon at the Boatyard Grill that celebrated the many races they’ve had on our home course!

Andy Russell, parent of senior Lisa Russel, was in town for the races and took A LOT of great pictures from both races and a practice! Check them out here:
