On Wednesday, Sept. 7th in the pouring rain we had the ground breaking ceremony. A pile of dirt was put between the BH garage doors earlier in the day. At 4:00 PM about 100 students, staff, administrators and friends of the crew gathered inside the BH to keep dry. President Rochon kicked off the ceremony speaking to the masses before we went out into the rain. As everyone gathered around donned with umbrellas, six silver and blue shovels took the first “dig”. During the week, between the rain and floods, Eastman construction workers wielded the “big” equipment and worked at clearing the woods to the South of the boathouse.
