Felling of the Trees
October 4, 2011
In two days, the “test” helical pile will be screwed 70 feet into the ground at the site of the Ward Romer boathouse. After setting for 5 days (maybe a week) it will be loaded 2x the weight of the new building. Hopefully it will pass and then the framework can begin. In the meantime Eastman Associates have been cleaning up the site and preparing everything for the construction of the building. Today an aborist team was removing all of the large mostly dead trees along the waters edge. All of the trees are being cut off at waist height so the stump can survive and continue to stabilize the bank.
