Two Ithaca Rowers Compete at Worlds in the Women’s Pair

Two rowers who rowed for IC are competing together in the women’s pair at worlds. (South Korea)

Meg Musnicki 05′ transferred to Ithaca her Sophomore year and rowed three years with the Bombers

Taylor Goetzinger (’12 Cornell Grad) Started her rowing at IC.  Taylor rowed for the Bomber’s her freshman year before transferring to Cornell

The next race was the women’s pair, with the crew of Meghan Musnicki (Naples, N.Y.) and Taylor Goetzinger (Mt. Pleasant, Mich.) up against Russia, Germany and Italy for a spot in the Thursday semifinal.

Musnicki and Goetzinger jumped off the start into first and held it all the way down the course to win in 7:24.03. Russia finished second in 7:26.40 and Germany took the last qualifying position, finishing third in 7:33.95.

“It was good,” said Musnicki. “We did what we wanted to do, which was get into the semi and not go through the reps. It was great. We executed the race the way we wanted to.”
