Location: Ithaca, New York (Cayuga Inlet)
Participating Crews: Women: Ithaca & Cornell Men: Ithaca, Cornell, Hobart, Syracuse & Mercyhurst
Conditions: Cold, with temperatures in the low 40’s to upper 30’s. Building headwind in each progressive 1,000m of the 3,000m race course. 6-12mph with varying gusts and chop. 300 meter super sprint was done in a straight tailwind.

This past Saturday, both the Ithaca Sweep and Sculling Teams headed down to the inlet to participate in the Cornell Autumn Classic. This was the second year Cornell ran this event, hosting crews from Ithaca, Hobart, Syracuse and Mercyhurst. The regatta itself was run as follows:
1. Two “flights” of racing. One in the morning and another in the afternoon.
2. Each flight consisted of a 3,000 meter head race, followed by a 300 meter super sprint.
3. Rankings were determined by multiplying the 300 meter super sprint time by three, and adding that time to the 3,000 meter head race time.
4. Frosh/Novice Crews did not participate in the 300 meter super sprint.
Racing against some of the top programs in the country, the racing proved to be fast and competitive.
