Heat Draw: Emily’s Qualification Quest

Emily Morley will make history tomorrow as the first Bahamian woman to compete internationally in the Sport of Rowing. Emily will be racing the W1x (Women’s single) at the 2016 FISA America’s Olympic Qualification Regatta for Rio.

imageEmily took her last practice row this morning. We went back to the course in the afternoon for the heat draw and opening ceremonies.
H1. Cub. Jam. Uruguay. C Rica. T&T
H2. Ecu. Arg. Peru. Dom Rep. Para
H3. P.Rico. Hon. El Sal. Gua. Ben
H4. Bra. Chi. Mex. Ber. Bah.

The top two finishers in each heat advance to the AB semifinal. For those who do not directly qualify into the AB semifinal there are two repechage races in the afternoon from 5-6pm. Again top two from each rep will race in the AB semifinal. All others advance to the CD semifinal. Qualification spots for Rio will go to the top 6 finishers overall. In order to have that chance, Emily must make the AB semifinal in Tuesday’s racing. ~ Becky.
